How customers opt in to texts

Last updated October 23, 2026

Ringmasters sends text messages on behalf of local home-service businesses ("Clients"), such as HVAC, plumbing, roofing and landscaping companies. Texts go only to homeowners who contacted that business and agreed to receive texts about their request. This page shows the opt-in flow.

1. The homeowner submits the business's lead form

Homeowners usually reach a Client through a Facebook or Instagram lead form, or through the Client's website form. Every form shows the consent disclosure below, with the Client's business name, next to the submit button. Below is a representative example of the form the homeowner sees.

Example business and customer shown. The disclosure text is the same on every Client's form, with that Client's business name.

2. The business texts back about the request

Within moments, the homeowner gets a text from the business they contacted. It names the business and says how to opt out:

Hi Chris, it's Jake with Evergreen Yard Co. Saw you asked about a spring cleanup. I can have someone come take a look Thursday at 4 or Saturday at 10. Which is better? Reply STOP to opt out.
Saturday works
Perfect, you're set for Saturday at 10. What's the address?

Later messages are about the same request: questions, scheduling, confirmations and a reminder before the appointment.

3. Homeowners who text or call the business first

If a homeowner texts the business directly, they receive replies about their inquiry only.
